What to Expect?

- Process and Time Line
Once you have decided that Nova Garden Design, LLC is going to design your
landscape, you most likely want to see a final plan as soon as possible.
I understand this and I will work with you to accomodate this goal.
It is my experience, however, that you should allow at least eight weeks to
let the design process take place. Designers
need time to think about concepts and planting designs,
but you also need time to interpret and
think about how the conceptual plans may look and fit on your lot.
Everybody's needs are different and that is why I have customers who
receive a final plan within a few weeks, whereas others feel that they want
to design their landscape in stages and take several months.
- Hand-drawn Conceptual Plans
Using information regarding your landscaping needs
and the conditions at your site, I will draw a base map to scale of your
lot and existing buildings and use this to draft two
or three conceptual designs. Drawing by hand, I will make rough
scketches of possible landscapes. These sketches present an overhead view and are
always to scale.
- Copied/Blueprinted Hand-drawn Final Plans
The final designs are drawn by hand. You will receive a set of two
copies or blueprints
one of which is colored. The final design is to scale and provides an overhead
view of the paths, structures, beds and location of trees, shrubs and
perennial plants.
- Cost and Invoices
I charge $40-50/hr. for my services and there is no minimal
project size. You will receive an invoice when we deliver a product. Customers typically
receive two invoices: one for the
conceptual design sketches and one for the final design.
